How do you Install A Wall Decal?

How to Install an Ocean Wall Decal

Instructions

#1

First, if your decal comes in sections, make sure you have separated all the sections before positioning them on the wall. You can easily do this with a pair of scissors. You will also want to make sure your surface is CLEAN and completely DRY before installing your decals.

#2

Now, position your decal on the wall and secure it in place with pieces of painter’s tape. Make sure you are happy with the placement because this is where it is going to be applied! Using a level and a tape measure during this step may be helpful. Then, take a long piece of painter’s tape and place it up and down (or across) the middle of the decal to divide it into two halves. This method is referred to as the “hinge” method.

#3

Choose one half of the decal to work with and fold it over the other half (that’s taped to the wall.) Carefully separate the hard paper backing from the decal. After exposing the adhesive side of the decal carefully remove the backing as you press the decal into place.

#4

Fold the backing underneath the decal and pull up or away as you apply and smooth the decal to the wall.

#5

Smooth out unwanted bubbles out of your decal by hand and then with the squeegee.  Make sure to start from the inside of the decal then sweep outwards applying even pressure.

#6

For Decals that come in sections repeat the above outlined process. You’ll want to overlap the decals to fit during the placement step.

# 7

Smaller pieces can be installed by removing the paper backing and simply applying it wherever you like.

#8

If at any time you are unhappy with the position of your decal, you can easily peel them off and stick them right back up again. It’s easy right?!

And VOILA! You’ve installed your decal! This decal is reusable so it can be used again.

Autumn Festival Tree Wall Decal With Do-It-Yourself Night Light

Night Light Blog

Hey everyone!

Sean here and this is video 3 in our video series of the Autumn Festival Nursery tree wall decal by Wall Decal Source.

Now if you haven’t seen video one about the tree wall decal, go ahead and go back to it, because it’s something just real quick that’s gonna tell you what we’re working with so that you have an idea with the project. Okay, so in this video I’m gonna teach you how to make this into a nightlight, to keep watching.

Alright, so for this project you will need decorative lights, kinda remind me of Chinese lanterns, and a hook. Well actually, you need more than just one hook, you need a couple these hooks but you should be already familiar with these if you’ve been watching the videos. It just comes with a couple adhesive strips to it and it’s no big deal, leaves no marks or scratches, and we just used like 4 or 5 of them so that we can determine the pattern that we want on the tree.

Alright let’s go ahead and get started.

I’ve got this all set up, ready to go, so we’re gonna plug it in and check it out. Alright, so there’s the final product, I think it came out looking awesome, this is an amazing nightlight scenario that not very many people think about. But you can just go to any kind of hobby-enthusiast store and purchase this kind of product, not very expensive, ten dollars or something. I think it turned out Awesome!

Anyway, as always if you like the decal, go ahead and go straight to the source, click the image below and it’ll take you straight there.

Now we’re going to reuse this for this video. Outside of that we’re also gonna use the adhesive hooks so that we’re not making any marks or leaving any scratches or tears on our walls, and then we’re gonna have this banner right here, and we’re gonna be using our decal. So let’s get started.

Alright, so that’s the end of our nursery monogram with our Autumn Festival tree wall decal. I think it came out pretty nice, I mean it’s gonna have the letters hanging off the banner and it’s gonna be sitting right over the crib. So, it’s a nice addition to any nursery or any kids room, you can actually change it up and put your kids name on it. Autumn Festival Nursery Tree Wall Decal With Do-It-Yourself Pom Pom

Pom Pom Blog

Hey everyone!

Sean here and this is video 2 in our video series for the Autumn Festival Nursery tree wall decals by Wall Decal Source.

Now, if you don’t know about the Autumn Festival Nursery tree wall decal by Wall Decal Source, go back to video one, links at the end of the post.

Now this is the first video in this series talking about the DIY projects that we’re gonna do and you’re gonna be able to make this 3D tree for less than five dollars, so stick with us because this… is gonna blow out into this…

Alright so what we’re gonna do here is we’re just gonna fan it out, and after we fan it out you’re gonna grab each individual tissue and pull it out.

Alright, let’s go ahead and throw this up. Alright so now we’re gonna get ready to put the pom-poms up onto the ceiling.

Now, a question that a lot of people have, because when you’re purchasing decals you do not want to be so invasive about putting holes in the walls or your ceiling, so what we do is we use these 3m hooks and this is going to allow you to just hook it up to the ceiling and you don’t have to worry about making any messes. Cause when it’s time to take it off all you do is pull the tab and it comes  right off.

We’re just gonna go ahead and stick it up wherever you think is appropriate. And there we go we have the first hook. Okay, so, we’re going to put up the rest of the hooks, and put the rest of the pom-poms and see what it looks like.

Alright everyone,  that concludes the end of our 3D tree, I know sad, I know, but it’s okay because we have more videos rolling through. I hope you enjoyed this tree, and if you do like this decal and want to purchase it go straight to the source.

FAQ: What type of Walls will Our Custom Vinyl Wall Decals stick to?

Type of Walls Decals Stick to

FAQ: What type of Walls will Our Custom Vinyl Wall Decals stick to?

FAQ: What ype of Walls do Vinyl Wall Decals Stick to

An excellent question that is asked regularly is: “What type of walls will our Custom Vinyl Wall Decals stick to”?

Well… in this blog post we intend to answer that question.

Most Walls

Truthfully, Our custom vinyl wall decals stick to 95% of the walls that we or our customers attempted to stick the Wall Decal onto.

In the end there are certain elements that effected whether or not our Decals stick:

  • Texture (Heavily-textured walls in particular)

Textured Walls

Our decals work best on smooth, flat surfaces. Which is a no-brainer for practically anyone who has played with stickers in their lifetime…

Our decals stick to almost any smooth or lightly textured surface including:

  • Painted walls,
  • Glass,
  • Mirrors,
  • Metal
  • Wood (watch us apply A Dandelion Wall Decal to Pallet Wood here).

But for those that haven’t here is a video that demonstrates How to Apply A Wall Decal.

Slightly Textured Walls

Below are images of slightly textured walls that our decals will have no issues sticking to.

img_2858 light_texture light_texture2 light_texture3 Lightly_Textured_Decorative_Wall_Panels_Fawn_Brown tan-painted-wall-texture

Moderate to Heavy Textured Walls

For obvious reasons, our Decals can not properly adhere to a wall that is moderate to heavily textured. But if you are still interested in purchasing a decal then you can always test it out first.

Below are images of Walls that our Products may have trouble sticking to:

VOC free paint

A new type of paint has hit the market labeled as “VOC Free Paint”. We have not had any issues with our Decals sticking to these walls, however there are reports of other decals are failing to adhere to the paint.

Should you encounter any issues though you are more than welcome to return the Decal for a full refund within 7 days of Purchase. Want to read more about our Guarantee? Click Here.

What is a VOC?

VOC stands for Volatile Organic Compound and as defined by Wikipedia:

“Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are organic chemicals that have a high vapor pressure at ordinary room temperature. Their high vapor pressure results from a low boiling point, which causes large numbers of molecules to evaporate or sublimate from the liquid or solid form of the compound and enter the surrounding air. For example, formaldehyde, which evaporates from paint, has a boiling point of only –19 °C (–2 °F).

VOCs are numerous, varied, and ubiquitous. They include both human-made and naturally occurring chemical compounds. Most scents or odours are of VOCs. VOCs play an important role in communication between plants,[1] and messages from plants to animals. Some VOCs are dangerous to human health or cause harm to the environment. Anthropogenic VOCs are regulated by law, especially indoors, where concentrations are the highest. Harmful VOCs typically are not acutely toxic, but have compounding long-term health effects. Because the concentrations are usually low and the symptoms slow to develop, research into VOCs and their effects is difficult.

So that new plastic smell is from harmful VOCs?

Yes, the outgassing of the VOCs is what creates that smell. Your infant and children should not be exposed to these harmful substances.

That’s why our decals are free of these harmful compounds and are absolutely odorless out of the box. Read more about that [here].

IF you still have Doubts, you should test it before purchasing our products. But our products do come with a 7 Day Money Back Satisfaction Guarantee!

DIY: Wall Hanging with a Dandelion Wall Decal

Dandelion Wall Decal Project- Wall Decal Source

DIY: Wall Hanging with a Dandelion Wall Decal and Pallet Wood

In this DIY- How To Series Project: Kim Blank will teach you How to make a DIY Wall Hanging with Pallet Wood and a Dandelion Wall Decal.

Click the picture to see a bigger image

This is a really fun project and I'm excited to share it with you.

Materials:

Click the picture to see a bigger image

What you will need:

  1. Dandelion Wall Decal
  2. Eight (8) Pallet Boards
  3. Work gloves for protection
  4. Saw
  5. Drill
  6. Box of 1 1/2 Screws
  7. Acrylic Paint
  8. Acrylic Paintbrush
  9. Tape Measure
  10. Wood Gorilla Glue
  11. Scissors (Not in the image)

Now that you have all the materials. Let's get started...

Step 1: Attach your pieces of Pallet Wood together with Wood Glue

Click the picture to see a bigger image

I wood glued my pieces of wood together at varying lengths to get a little bit of variation at each end in my project. Apply wood glue to the sides of both boards and press them firmly together. Repeat until you have reached your desired size.

Step 2: Prep and Screw Brackets

The glue alone is not strong enough to hold together the wall hanging so we are going to install brackets that will also help support the entire project.

Click the picture to see a bigger image

I'm going to now prep my bracket. My pieces of wood are 42" long so I'm going to do cut my them in half to 21".

Click the picture to see a bigger image

Now I'm going to cut this piece in half and then I'll be able to use it. I've got this handy saw that I'm going to use with this guide to create a straight cut on my first attempt. I can just set my board in it and align my mark with the angle that I want to cut it.

Click the picture to see a bigger image

Now that we have our two pieces that we're going to use to put it together; we are going to brace it. I'm going to put my screws in and I'm going to use six (6) screws per bracket. Two (2) in the front, two in the center and two on the end. Now that we have our brackets screwed to our seven boards we can start painting the boards.

Step 3: Painting the Pallet Boards

There is our arrangement and we'll flip it over and paint it. I have flipped my palette board over and I've kind of cleared my space.

Click the picture to see a bigger image

I'm going to bring these away and I'm going to bring my blue paints over and my paintbrush. I'm going to go get that. I have got my red Solo cup, my paintbrush and my paints and we're going to come out with a nice early morning blue paint color. I'm excited for how this is going to turn out. If you would like to you could paint the front of your board or you could leave it exposed or stain it. It is entirely up to you.

Click the picture to see a bigger image

We're going to just paint the entire front side. I'm just going to do one coat and then we're going to let that dry. It is important that you wait until your paint is dry because it could mess up the decal.

Step 4: Applying the Dandelion Wall Decal

Click the picture to see a bigger image

The next step we'll be doing is putting our wall decal on. All right, so we are back again and we have our paint dry a couple hours later. This is awesome. It's our early morning blue. It's so pretty on our palette boards. Now we're going to apply the dandelion decal. I get really excited whenever I get to apply decals, this one is a great product.

Click the picture to see a bigger image

Start by peeling the bottom layer back halfway on your decal. Pay particular attention to small elements on your decal so when you peel the backing you do it slowly because you can rip off the smaller pieces. Now I press it down on the edge of the board. If I go a little bit over that's fine, because, I can just cut it off with scissors. I'm going to press it down. Just press and slowly roll the rest of the backing away slowly.

Click the picture to see a bigger image

I'm peeling this bottom piece back and I'm pressing with my hands for now. I'm pressing it as I slowly peel it all the way up. I've peeled my entire pieceoff and set that down.

Click the picture to see a bigger image

Then I'm going to take my squeegee and I'm going to press it like really well paying particular attention to the little pieces. Because there is a lot of little fronds everywhere it important that they are securely fastened to the board. So I'm going to press it onto my palette board really good.

Click the picture to see a bigger image

Now I'm going to take my other pieces. I cut them, so they're kind of like the fronds, the dandelion fronds are drifting away with the wind. I'm going to take it and peel it back. Now these are easier, because, they're smaller. I'm going to peel the whole back off. It's pretty easy and really addicting. You just peel the backing off and then you just put it down and you just get your squeegee and just press it down really, really well. Now I'm going to go back to this original one and I'm going to press it one more time.

Step 5: Peeling off the Transfer Tape from the Dandelion Wall Decal

Click the picture to see a bigger image

I'm going to slowly and very carefully peel it. Okay, so now I've got my initial peeled back. This is so fun. Now you get to see how the final product turns out. I'm going to come and I'm actually going to press all this with fingers and my squeegee thing. I'm going to press it all, just so I know it's down really good. Then we'll go and peel the rest of them. It seems like the closer you peel back to your piece the better it turns out. Then I'm just coming back and pushing them down. There we have it. I'm going to just go over and I'm just going to press it all everywhere. I'm going to actually just get my scissors and trim the edge of that really good. Just carefully pressing them and then carefully peeling it back. Then we'll be good to go.

Step 6: Admire your finished Wall Hanging

Click the picture to see a bigger image

I'm so excited, this looks awesome. It's looks really good. This is fun. You can just do this in an afternoon. Get your dandelion decal. Paint your boards up. Screw them together and you will come out with a fun, this is a pretty big wall hanging, you know.

Conclusion

If you go and hang it on your wall. It'll cover a pretty good space and you just did this yourself at home. People would pay a lot of money for this. It's awesome looking. Thanks so much for checking us out. I really enjoyed doing this DIY  dandelion decal wall palette and I'm really excited about it. Ready to hang it up. We did this awesome early morning blue color.
I got a lot of these materials just from the home improvement store. Then I purchased the dandelion black wall decal from Wall Decal Source.
